Pfeiffer Falls

Overview: If you include Valley Vista Trail as well as the Falls within one hour this short hike will take you to explore the awesome redwood forests, see the see beautiful Pfeiffer Falls, and breathtaking command views of the Big Sur Valley and the rugged California Coast.This popular waterfall is quite nice during the rainy season and early spring. maybe not so much in dryer times but a hike in Pfeiffer's redwood forests is always nice.

McWay Falls

Location: PCH 1, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, 13 miles south of Big Sur, 36 miles south of Carmel, 58 miles north of Hearst Castle San Simeon; Lat/Long: +36° 9' 28.80", -121° 40' 12.61"
Overview: most viewed and photographed of all Big Sur falls, (access restricted to overlook trail, no beach access); in the summer you may need to wait a short while for parking.

Limekiln Creek Falls

Trailhead/Parking: Enter Limekiln State Park and pay entrance fee, drive straight and park next to the restrooms; hike through the campground, and the trail starts at the end of the campground driveway.
Location: PCH 1, Limekiln Creek State Park, 51 miles south of Carmel, 39 miles north of Hearst Castle San Simeon; Lat/Long: +36° 0' 50.15", -121° 30' 54.58"
Overview: Lovely falls and redwoods, the historic limekiln ruins are cool too

Salmon Creek Falls Trail

Trailhead/Parking: lots of gravel pull out space next to highway
Location: Salmon Creek falls can be seen from the highway it is located on a sharp hairpin curve with a gravel pull-out inland side of PCH1 1 just north of the Monterey/San Luis Obispo County line, 3.6 miles north of the Ragged Inn or 18.6 miles north of the Hearst Castle turnoff; coming from the north the pullout is 45 miles south of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Entrance or 7.9 miles south of Gorda; Lat/Long: +35° 49' 1.92", -121° 21' 32.40"
Overview: Very impressive during the wet season, just pull off the highway to have a peak and a short hike reveals its charms; or hike further up the creek for some breathing views and lush forest.
