Riverside Campground and Cabins

Description: The Riverside Campground & Cabins is an AAA approved resort that offers 45 sites for tents RV's and 11 Cabins along the Big Sur River on 16 acres of beautiful redwood forest. Picnic tables and fire pits are on each campground site, hot showers, laundry facilities, playground, swimming in the river, electricity and water hook-ups are some of the amenities awaiting you and your RV. Riverside Campgrounds can accomodate groups up to 20 persons.
Location: Located 24 Miles south of Carmel By The Sea and 75 Miles north of San Simeon (Hearst Castle) on beautiful Highway One 36° 16.027, - 121° 48.253
Directions: Take Pacific Coast Highway One to 1.5 miles north of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Riverside Campground and Cabins is on the west side of the highway just south of Big Sur Campground and Cabins, the Santa Lucia Chapel and the Big Sur Health Center and Medical Facility turnoff.
Camping Facilities: Ten acres heavily forested with Coastal Redwood, Maple, Oak, Laurel, and Poplar. 28 tent campsites most along the river some meander into the redwoods each has a campfire container, picnic table and drinking water close by. There 14 RV sites along the Big Sur river for RVs up to 34 feet with 20 amp electric and water hookups, campfire containers and a picnic table with each site; there is no dumpstation. Public restrooms with hot pay-showers , laundry facility and a small general store are on the property close by.
Activities: camping, picnicking, hiking, jogging, nature study and bird watching, cooling tootsies, wading, swimming and tubing in the Big Sur River, relaxing
Close by Points of Interest: Located at the northern end of the Big Sur Valley there are numerous general stores, gas stations, motels, restaurants, shops and a bar located nearby. Beaches and hiking are only short distances north or south along the Pacific Coast Highway 1. Also just south a few miles is the Henry Miller Memorial Library; a bookstore, art gallery, gift shop and location for many local events http://henrymiller.org/.
Pets & Misc. Regulations:Pets allowed pet friendly accommodations at this Big Sur campground.
Pets are allowed but there is an additional charge and must be on a leash and attended. Gathering firewood is not allowed.
Helpful Hints: Gathering firewood is not allowed you should bring your own fire wood or firewood is available for purchase at the general store.
