Information: The historic Point Sur Lightstation built over 115 years ago (opened 1889) is still operational, a California State Historical Park & Lighthouse and open for guided tours. Call (831) 625-4419
Near Points of Interest: Point Sur California State Historical Park & Lightstation is just 3 miles north of Andrew Molera State Park and 18 beautiful scenic (including views of the famous often photographed Big Sur icon the Bixby Bridge) miles south of Carmel by the Sea.
Beach Access and Day Use Picnic Areas: Andrew Molera State Park beach access is just south and there are numerous nice accessable beaches and sand duned on the way to Carmel including Garrapata State Park (9 miles), Point Lobos State Reserve, or California State Reserve Website (16 miles), and Carmel River State Beach (17 miles).
Near places to Eat: The Maiden Publick House is about 6 miles to the south and the wonderful Rocky Point Restaurant is 8 beautiful scenic miles north.
Near Hotel Lodgings & Resorts: Carmel River Inn is 18 miles north and Big Sur River Inn is the closest south 6 miles
Near Campgrounds: Andrew Molera walk-in campground is just south and Botcher's Gap is about 15 miles, 7 miles north on the Pacific Coast Highway 1 then up Palo Colorado Road 8 miles.
Other Facilities, Services or Activities: the Lighthouse tour is all there is to do here; guided tour only, you can't wander around at will or hike about unescorted on Point Sur Lighthouse State property.
